Sakatia Lodge is in a really beautiful and unique location in North-West Madagascar. Tourism has barely touched the island so you can experience paradise – but the modern conveniences of WIFI, hot showers and three-course dinners.
Come and visit.

Our location

We are a tiny island, off a bigger island, off the coast of Madagascar in Africa. Get a bird’s eye view of our location.

Nosy Sakatia

View from the Lodge

A truly unspoiled island with no roads and little development, Nosy Sakatia is the perfect island escape.

The island is just 13 km² but is home to a wonderful diversity of wildlife and stunning scenery. Wander up to our sunset spot, explore the island by land or by sea, or simply relax.

As the island has little tourist activity, there are only a few restaurants along the beach and each of them needs to be pre-booked a day in advance so that they can buy the ingredients for your meal.

Please speak to our managers if you would like to do this while you are staying - or of course, you can dine with us.

Just a 20-minute boat ride from Nosy Sakatia, Nosy Be has an international airport and offers interesting day trips from the Lodge.

Explore the volcanic terrain, see the crater lakes, and visit the markets, shops and restaurants in Hellville or Ambatoloaka.

You can also visit the ylang-ylang distillery and Lemuria Land and stop at the sacred tree to gain an understanding of the traditional religion on the island.

Located off the South-East coast of Africa, Madagascar is famous for its unique and unusual wildlife – 90% of the species here are found nowhere else on Earth. Combine that with wonderfully different scenery and friendly people and you will see why so many people love this country.
