Sakatia lodge is nestled at the foot of the Sacred Mountain on Nosy Sakatia, a small tropical island off the coast of Nosy Be. Our onsite dive centre welcomes certified divers, beginners and curious first-timers. With more than 20 dive sites, dedicated boats and a full range of courses available, Sakatia Lodge offers a more personal approach to scuba diving in Madagascar. Our experienced team tailors each diving day to suit the conditions and the interests of our guests, creating relaxed and rewarding underwater experiences. Underwater photography and macro diving are some of the highlights, with several excellent sites located just a short boat ride from the lodge.

Beyond the lodge

Spend your days exploring the island or simply slowing down. Snorkel the 1km house reef, discover the birds and tropical plants found throughout the lodge gardens, enjoy a massage with 100% Malagasy natural oils, or relax with a book on a beach lounger overlooking the sea. For those keen to explore further afield, a range of excursions offer a closer look at the wildlife, culture and landscapes of northern Madagascar.

Ecotourism

We support the local community, employ island residents, source ingredients locally whenever possible, and respect the natural environment that makes Nosy Sakatia unique. From solar-lit pathways and solar-powered infrastructure to locally grown herbs, local sourcing, and the preservation of the island's natural character, we strive to minimise our impact while sharing the beauty of Sakatia with our guests.

My husband and I visited Sakatia Lodge for the first time in December 2016. We had a memorable week's holiday. Our second visit was just as good and very relaxing. We stayed in one of the new luxury Glamping Tents, comfortable and spacious with a large bathroom. The snorkelling with Green Turtles was such a wonderful experience.

This is by far one of the best options if you are a scuba diver looking for something out of this world. The dive center offers night diving with fluoro diving — purple lights and orange filters for viewing. The lodge is very well cared for with top-notch professional staff.
